About the Role
As a Connectivity / RF Engineer at Naveera, you'll own the wireless performance of our fleet-grade camera and telematics devices — LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GNSS — from schematic and layout guidance to antenna design/tuning to lab + field validation. You'll make sure our devices stay connected in the real world (vehicles, urban canyons, rural coverage, high EMI environments) and help build a repeatable process for RF bring-up, certification readiness, and production stability.
Responsibilities
- Own RF/connectivity architecture for camera devices: LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, and antenna strategy
- Guide schematic + PCB layout for RF sections: grounding, isolation, keepouts, matching networks, and coax/connector selection
- Design, select, and tune antennas (cellular/Wi-Fi/GNSS) for vehicle-mounted enclosures and cab/roof mounting constraints
- Run RF bring-up and debugging: VSWR/return loss, radiation patterns, throughput tests, sensitivity, and coexistence tuning
- Develop lab and field validation plans for connectivity performance (urban/rural, motion, heat, power events)
- Work with carriers/modem vendors on certification paths and module integrations (PTCRB, carrier approvals as needed)
- Support EMI/EMC and regulatory readiness (FCC/CE) as it affects RF performance and radiated emissions
- Partner with EE, Embedded Linux/Firmware, and Mechanical teams to resolve enclosure, cable, and interference issues
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of RF/connectivity engineering experience on production devices (IoT, automotive, consumer electronics)
- Hands-on experience with LTE and Wi-Fi system performance testing and RF debugging
- Understanding of antenna fundamentals and practical tuning (matching networks, ground plane effects, placement constraints)
- Experience guiding PCB RF layout and reviewing designs for RF best practices
- Comfort using RF lab tools (VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, power meter) and interpreting results
- Ability to document test setups, results, and design recommendations clearly for cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with vehicle-mounted devices and real-world RF issues (multipath, shielding, engine/alternator noise)
- GNSS performance optimization and jamming/interference mitigation experience
- Coexistence tuning across LTE/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and antenna isolation strategies
- Experience with certified cellular modules and carrier certification processes (PTCRB / operator approvals)
- EMI/EMC fundamentals and experience supporting pre-scan testing and mitigation designs
- Experience working with contract manufacturers on RF calibration, production tests, and yield consistency
