EE Schematic and PCB Layout Engineer
HardwareRemoteFull-time
About the Role
As an EE Schematic and PCB Layout Engineer at Naveera, you'll own the electrical design and PCB execution for our custom AI/IoT edge hardware platform. You will lead schematic development, guide PCB layout, define stackup and routing constraints, review high-speed interfaces, and support the board from architecture through prototype bring-up and production readiness. This role is ideal for someone who can connect schematic decisions to real-world board behavior, especially across power, clocks, reset, memory, high-speed routing, manufacturability, and debug.
Responsibilities
- Lead schematic design and review for the main PCB and related hardware modules
- Own PCB layout direction from early placement through routing review, fabrication release, and assembly handoff
- Define PCB stackup, layer count, impedance targets, via strategy, spacing rules, and length-matching constraints
- Design and review high-speed embedded interfaces including LPDDR, eMMC/UFS, MIPI CSI, USB, PCIe/SATA, SDIO, and related clocks
- Design and review power architecture, PMIC sequencing, reset logic, watchdog circuits, load switches, always-on rails, and power-good behavior
- Review DDR/LPDDR routing, controlled impedance, reference planes, return paths, decoupling, PDN quality, and length matching
- Review camera, wireless, audio, CAN, UART, I2C, SPI, boot, debug, and test-point circuits
- Identify schematic and layout risks before fabrication and document clear action items for resolution
- Support board bring-up, hardware debug, validation, rework decisions, and root-cause analysis
- Work closely with firmware, mechanical, sourcing, PCB layout, fabrication, and assembly partners
- Drive DFM, DFT, EMI/ESD, thermal, and manufacturing-readiness reviews before release
- Maintain clean design documentation, review notes, constraints, BoM inputs, and release packages
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in electrical hardware design, PCB design, or high-speed embedded systems
- Strong schematic design experience with application processors, SoCs, MPUs, FPGAs, or other complex digital platforms
- Experience designing or reviewing 8+ layer multilayer PCBs for high-speed embedded systems
- Strong understanding of PCB stackup planning, impedance control, power/ground plane strategy, return paths, and layer-count tradeoffs
- Experience with DDR/LPDDR, high-speed differential pairs, length matching, skew control, fanout strategy, and controlled-impedance routing
- Experience with power tree design, PMICs, DC/DC converters, LDOs, sequencing, reset circuits, decoupling, and board-level power validation
- Ability to deeply review PCB layouts, not just create schematics
- Experience preparing or reviewing manufacturing outputs including Gerbers/ODB++, fabrication notes, assembly files, BoM, and design release packages
- Comfortable reading processor datasheets, hardware design guides, reference schematics, layout constraint documents, and component specifications
- Experience with Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, or similar professional EDA tools
- Strong debugging skills using schematics, layout files, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power measurements, and bring-up checklists
- Ability to communicate design risks clearly and drive issues to closure with remote engineers or external partners
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience with complex embedded hardware or high-speed PCB design
- Experience with Rockchip, NXP, Qualcomm, Renesas, TI, NVIDIA Jetson, or similar embedded processor platforms
- Experience with HDI boards, microvias, dense BGA fanout, fine-pitch components, and high-density placement
- Experience with SI/PI review or simulation tools such as HyperLynx, Ansys, Sigrity, Polar, or similar
- Experience with MIPI CSI camera systems, image sensors, wireless modules, CAN, audio codecs, USB-C, PCIe, or automotive-style input protection
- Experience taking boards from early prototype through EVT/DVT/PVT or production release
- Experience working with PCB fabricators and assembly houses to resolve DFM, yield, and fabrication issues
- Experience reviewing work from external PCB layout engineers and enforcing design constraints
- Background in IoT, edge AI, robotics, automotive, surveillance, camera systems, or embedded Linux hardware
Experience
- Electrical hardware design / PCB design: 7 years required
- High-speed multilayer PCB design: 5 years preferred
- 8+ layer PCB design or review: required
