Hardware Sourcing Engineer

About the Role

As a Hardware Sourcing Engineer at Naveera, you'll own the sourcing and component strategy behind our fleet camera and telematics hardware — from BOM to supplier selection to production readiness. You'll bridge engineering and manufacturing to ensure our devices are cost-effective, reliable, and buildable at scale, while moving fast and protecting quality.

Responsibilities

• Own component sourcing and supplier selection for cameras, sensors, storage, modems, antennas, harnesses, enclosures, and mounting systems
• Build and maintain BOMs with cost, MOQ, lead times, alternates, and risk scoring
• Run RFQs/RFPs, compare quotes, negotiate pricing and terms, and drive cost-down initiatives (VA/VE)
• Partner with ME/ID and EE teams to ensure designs are manufacturable (DFM/DFA), serviceable, and scalable
• Lead supplier quality workflows: incoming inspection, FAIs, corrective actions, and failure analysis with vendors
• Coordinate manufacturing readiness: timelines, tooling, packaging, test fixtures, and production ramps
• Manage logistics inputs: Incoterms, shipping plans, regional supplier trade-offs, and inventory planning signals

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years in hardware sourcing, component engineering, manufacturing engineering, or supply chain for physical products
• Experience sourcing and qualifying vendors for electromechanical components and assemblies
• Strong command of BOM management: cost modeling, alternates, MOQ/lead-time planning, and risk mitigation
• Hands-on understanding of DFM/DFA and common manufacturing processes (injection molding, CNC, sheet metal, assembly)
• Comfortable running supplier conversations end-to-end: RFQ → negotiation → production readiness → quality follow-through
• Clear written communication and strong ownership in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ruggedized/vehicle-mounted electronics (dashcams, telematics, IoT devices)
• Familiarity with quality systems and production documentation (FAI, control plans, tolerance/GD&T basics)
• Experience sourcing in China/Taiwan/Vietnam and working with contract manufacturers
• Working knowledge of compliance and certification pathways (FCC/CE, RoHS/REACH, IP ratings)
• Track record of cost-down and supplier consolidation without sacrificing reliability
