Hardware Test / Validation Engineer
HardwareFull-time
About the Role
As a Hardware Test / Validation Engineer at Naveera, you'll own the verification and reliability process for our fleet-grade camera and telematics devices — turning prototypes into production-ready hardware. You'll build test plans, fixtures, and validation workflows that prove our devices can survive real vehicle conditions (heat, vibration, power transients, spotty networks) while meeting quality targets for scale.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute validation plans across EVT/DVT/PVT for camera and telematics hardware
- Define test requirements and pass/fail criteria for electrical, functional, environmental, and reliability testing
- Design and build test setups/fixtures for repeatable lab testing and production readiness
- Run power integrity and protection validation (load dump, cranking, surge/ESD, reverse polarity)
- Validate thermal performance, long-run soak stability, and vibration/shock survivability for vehicle environments
- Partner with EE, firmware, and embedded Linux teams to debug failures and drive root-cause analysis to closure
- Develop incoming inspection and supplier quality test procedures with component and manufacturing partners
- Support factory test development: test points, calibration flows, scripts, and yield improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hardware validation, test engineering, or reliability engineering experience on shipped devices
- Strong understanding of electronics fundamentals and common failure modes in embedded products
- Hands-on lab experience using scopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads, and measurement tools
- Ability to write clear test plans, runbooks, and structured failure reports (symptoms → root cause → corrective action)
- Experience building repeatable test setups and basic fixtures (hardware + scripting/automation where needed)
- Comfort working cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, and manufacturing teams in a fast-moving environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience validating vehicle-powered or ruggedized devices (12V/24V) and automotive transient standards familiarity
- Experience with environmental testing: thermal chambers, vibration tables, ingress/IP considerations
- Factory test and calibration experience (EVT/DVT/PVT to MP), including yield tracking and production triage
- Scripting experience for automation (Python, Bash) and test data reporting
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC pre-scan workflows and validation support for FCC/CE readiness
- Experience validating camera systems (video pipelines, storage stress, multi-sensor behavior) and connectivity (LTE/Wi-Fi/GNSS)
